LINDAKABAN.COM

If you've been reading my blog you'll notice that lindakaban.com or more specifically Linda Kaban herself is going through a transition.

Less Life Coach, more adventuring philosopher.

I've found through coaching that the people who contact me are well on their way to their own rebirth. They don't need me to hold their hand.

What people do need however is information. And I'll be here to help steer a path to the resources; and provide the tips, tools and a different perspective. Sometimes that's all it takes. One word or phrase and your life will take the turn you've been longing to make.

Check out my blog blog.lindakaban.com/ for the latest updates. Watch the videos where I demonstrate yoga de-stressors and breathing techniques. Learn how to access your own inner philosopher....that's right....you have one. It's that noisy, annoying and immensely strong voice that's been yammering at you for years to dig down, step up, reach out and BE the you that you're supposed to be.

Mind Mapping for Mavericks

Linear thinking, the operating system with which we're all trained from a very young age, consists simply of starting at A and with blinders and a neck brace on, looking neither right or left, running all the way to B. It's like taking a walk through an impossibly beautiful forest, but because you can't turn your head, you don't get to see the carpet of trilliums decorating the floor of the earth just a few feet to your left; you don't get to stop with breathless wonder and observe the deer quietly grazing to your right. You might miss that funky treehouse that some escapee from city life has built to house his soul.

We're not supposed to think in a line. Do an experiment. Stand in your living room. Focus on an object; let's say a lamp that you love. Think about how good it looks in the room. Think about where you bought it. Ask yourself why you bought it. Because you loved it; because it fits in with your image of what you want your home to be; because you are building this home to be your very own paradise; because you want to show your kids that with hard work and a little vision, this is the kind of life to which they can aspire.

You see where I'm going? Linear thinking allows you to complete a task. However, by starting at A and letting A be your focal point, you can explore your options in a dozen different ways, all of which will bring you to B, but you might have a better time on the journey.

Mind mapping helps you organize and elaborate on those seemingly random thoughts and renders conclusions and possibilities you hadn't even considered. As with linear thinking there's focus, but you get to choose the focus that resonates with your soul.

Cool stuff.

Peace,

Linda
