Linda Kaban may be a dreamer, but she is also a practical person concerned with the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of all.
Linda was born and raised in Toronto. From the age of 4 she was reading voraciously. The hours spent in reading turned into hours researching many different topics of interest. By the age of 16, Linda had studied Buddhism, taught herself yoga and become familiar with eastern movement forms and practices. Those years of research also led to an often exercised ability to express herself in words, dance, theatre, painting, sculpting and crafts of all kinds.
Educated at Trent University, where she discovered a talent for working with, and having an influence on different types of people, Linda graduated and became a trainer for one of Canada's chartered banks. Marriage and the economic realities of life were the main driving forces of the next several years. Through that time, yoga maintained her body, while her spirit was uplifted through yoga, writing, and for several years, running a craft business that benefitted charities.
Eight years ago, doing clerical work and facing a shortage of funds and a home life in some disarray, Linda was looking for inspiration and a happier life. She chose to bring her teaching and yoga experiences together and pursue a yoga teaching certificate. This was achieved in October 2000.
Since that time, Linda has taught yoga to many people and provided support to her students and friends in their times of trouble. Linda does not believe in spouting pedantic truisms, but in rolling up her sleeves and helping them achieve outward success by finding their inner strength. In her own words, she wants " to take the disheartened and the people resigned to living a life without any of their dreams being fulfilled and help them to believe in themselves". To that end she became certified through the YWCA's Life Skills Coaching program in March of 2007. As a Life Coach it is her wish, that through active mentoring, more people will be drawn to the desire to exceed their own bounds and pursue a life where dreams can and will come true.
