I wrote a blog not too long ago in which I outlined a hastily written "mission statement". It read as follows, "To compassionately and patiently listen with an open heart and assist with my strength people who are in need of direction, who want to learn how to focus their energies and who are committed to realizing their dreams." Can I simplify that even further? Yes. I want to help. I'm not a therapist. If it's a past that’s troubling you and you haven't resolved the issues and feel a trip to your childhood will bring you present day peace, then by all means seek the comfort zone that best suits you. If however, you are determined to treat your past challenges as potential strength, then let me help. Sometimes all we need is a mentor, a guide to help us find our path, cheer on our first steps and then have faith that we'll succeed in our endeavours. I'm not a psychologist or the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. I'm a dreamer, a thinker and a teacher. I NEVER give up on a dream. And most of all I believe that the world is ours and it's out there waiting for you. Every time you look out the window and murmur, "I wish..."; every time you watch someone living their dream and whisper, "How..."; every time you feel a longing, a spark, a belief and let it die before being born....THAT is the time that you must act. And if you need a guide to help you, then I am here. Inside all of you is the courage, determination and persistence that will allow you to achieve your heart's desires. Your fears and doubts have no chance against that kind of army. I'll help you map out a plan and help you learn how to focus your energies on your goals without expanding vast amounts of time, energy or money. Dedicated focus, planning and organization have a way of clearing obstacles and creating opportunities. A short time ago a woman and I were talking on the bus. She suffered from severe anxiety and was taking steps to overcome her fears. She looked at me with quiet desperation and asked, "Linda how can you find the courage to do what you do?" She was referring to my relentless pursuit of happiness and a meaningful, fulfilling life. I answered, "How can I not?"
